Brief History
Clifden Glen or ‘Woods’s as it was known entertained most of the sporting activities in times past. It was our football pitch, our athletic ground and hosted the annual Clifden Horse Races. The Owen Glin river forms the southern boundary and is a renowned salmon and trout fishery. The fishing rights are owned by Clifden Trout Anglers Association.
